This paper discusses ways of naming colors in Polish and Modern Standard Arabic. Assuming synchronic perspective, it reviews similarities and dissimilarities between word-formation systems of both languages. Part one deals with basic color terms and part two with non-basic color terms. It employs color-term classification offered by Berlin and Kay.
